Run. Run. Reach the end.
Posted in Iska on 02/01/2010 11:39 pm by SweethamBeen very busy since this sem started, more when I decided to run for the university student council. Yes, quite a 360 degree change of plans for me. My mom knows that I am graduating supposedly, but seeing the need for a change and the need to re-orient the students on my college, I opted for a position as the CHE representative. Not an easy decision for me, not a burden too. I knew quite well even before I settled with such decision, this requires too much of a sacrifice. My one year extension in academics is one thing that can happen if I will win this coming election. My stipend therefore should be shouldered by no other than me. I don’t want to get allowance from my parents anymore. I sacrificed my membership in Kontra-Gapi, meaning no out-of-towns anymore. No future gigs, no future concerts. I needed to choose and know my priorities well. Events in my life such as these make me realize what my capabilities really are. Very menial at times that I torture my self with inconsistent and tedious physical work and mental stress, but I know quite this will pay off in the end.
I just want the people’s support. That’s all.

Friend, I support you in your choice of serving the students of the university. I just hope that while you stand for change and progress in UP, you won’t get swallowed up by mere ideologies.
